Terms & Conditions

BURRENMORE NEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We look forward to welcoming you to Burrenmore Nest. Please observe the following terms and conditions prior to booking.

MAKING A BOOKING

We recommend that you take out holiday/travel insurance prior to making any booking. To secure your forest lodge, the full cost of your stay must be paid when booking accommodation. All bookings must be made via our online system and should be treated as provisional until you receive confirmation from us via email. We do not currently accept booking by email, telephone or social media.

Bookings are valid for the maximum capacity indicated at time of booking, unless you have written confirmation from contact@burrenmore-nest.com for additional occupants. Bookings will normally be for one or two adults only. No additional guests will be permitted to stay overnight without prior authorisation from the Site Manager ( from the email address contact@burrenmore-nest.com ).

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES

Check-in is from 4pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is by 11am on the day of departure. Late departures may incur an extra charge. If you anticipate arriving after 8pm, please inform the team in advance so that we can arrange to meet you or to leave you self check-in instructions, as appropriate.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made by guests more than 6 weeks prior to the check-in date will be refunded minus the deposit of 30% of the total cost of the stay.

Cancellations made within 6 weeks of the check-in date will be refunded only if the lodge is able to be rebooked at full price for the dates cancelled, in which case the full amount minus the 30% deposit will be returned. We will make all reasonable efforts to re-let the accommodation, but if we are unable to do so, then regretfully we will be unable to refund any monies paid.

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking, we will inform you as soon as possible and refund all monies paid to us.

In the case of exceptional circumstances, when late cancellation of your visit is due to bereavement, illness in the family, or any similar unforeseen occurrence outside your control which prevents you taking your stay, we may consider refunding part or all the money owed with the exception of the 30% deposit. We reserve the right to treat such cases individually.

If you fail to arrive at Burrenmore Nest to enjoy your booked accommodation, then you are liable for the full cost of the booking.

GUEST BEHAVIOUR AND NOISE

It is important to us that all of our guests are able to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay at Burrenmore Nest.

As such, we request that gathering in the communal area ends by 11pm. To avoid disturbing fellow guests and neighbours, there will be a no-noise policy operating from this time within the communal area. Communal facilities, car-parking and hot tub baths are reserved for use by resident guests only unless otherwise authorised by the Site Manager.

In exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to ask any guests exhibiting unacceptable or antisocial behaviour to leave the site, under which circumstances no reimbursement of booking charges will be due. Burrenmore Nest operates a zero-tolerance policy to any threat or actual violence, intimidation or aggressive behaviour towards our staff or to other guests.

Guests must adhere to the hot tub whirlpool bath guidance in the guest information booklet.

CLEANING, DAMAGES AND LOSS OF PROPERTY

There is a refundable damages deposit of £60 due on arrival.

Guests should keep the accommodation, hot tub, outside area and furniture and fittings in the same state of repair as in the commencement of the stay. We reserve the right to deduct the cost of damaged items from the security deposit provided if they are judged to be due to careless or irresponsible behaviour.

While cleaning is included as part of your stay, we reserve the right to levy a cleaning charge if the lodge, hot tub or outside area is left in a particularly poor condition.

Guests will be charged for any item(s) that are removed or lost from the accommodation.

We do not take responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or for injury to clients or any third parties during their stay. We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover such events.

SECURITY CCTV

The site operates security CCTV in the carpark and communal area. Burrenmore Nest reserves the right to record and share any footage taken on site with public authorities and other relevant parties in the event of suspected criminal damage or serious breach of the terms and conditions of stay.

CHILDREN

Each of our holiday lodges contains a single king-size bed and is designed to accommodate two adults.

Due to the capacity of each of our lodges and for safety reasons, we do not encourage children on site. However, we understand that parents with young infants have limited childcare options and we are therefore happy to offer a travel cot and highchair to guests travelling with a child aged 0-36 months. If you will be bringing a child under the age of 3, please inform us upon making the booking so that we can reserve these items for you. Guests will need to bring their own bedding for infants.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children and young people aged 3-16 years old except in exceptional circumstances.

In the interest of safety, children should never be left unattended in the lodges or on site and parents/caregivers of children must accept full responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of children on site. There are several safety hazards on site, including high staircases, balconies, a communal firepit and hot tubs. As our site enables direct access to woodland, it is not enclosed on all sides. Under-16s are not allowed to use the exterior baths.

PETS

Pet stays are available for bookings to stay in Robin’s Perch and Pipit’s Hide, but must be booked in advance - please see https://www.burrenmore-nest.com/pet-stays for more details.

CANDLES, FIREWORKS AND CHINESE LANTERNS

Due to the risk of environmental harm and fire, the use of candles, tea lights and charcoal BBQs are not permitted in the lodges, directly under the raised lodges or on balconies.

The use of fireworks, sparklers and Chinese lanterns is not permitted on the entire site at any time.

BBQ AND FIREPIT

A communal firepit is provided for the comfort of all guests. This will be lit by site management and additional supplies of wood will be kept on site.

Please keep campfires to the designated firepit area and do not light fires anywhere else on site.
A communal gas BBQ is provided for use by our guests. Please inform staff on site if you would like to use it.

SMOKING

Smoking and use of e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited in the lodges. Guests can smoke on balconies and in the exterior area around their lodges. Please inform us through the pre-arrivals form if one or more of your party are smokers and we will provide an ash-tray for use in those designated areas. Any evidence to suggest that there has been smoking in the lodges will lead to additional cleaning charges. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only to manage any risk to nature surrounding us and non-smoking guests experiences.

COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)

If your booking is affected by lockdown policies, we can offer you alternative dates, gift vouchers or a refund, minus a £25 administration fee. Please note that alternative dates may be charged at higher rates, for example if booked for peak season.

If you or anyone in your household (even if they are not travelling with you e.g. children, relatives) are showing signs of COVID-19, you must not travel to stay at Burrenmore Nest. You must remain at home and self-isolate according to government guidelines.

If you choose to travel and check-in, you are certifying that you and your travel companion are fit and well and are not showing any signs of COVID-19.

If during your stay you develop any COVID-19 symptoms, you must immediately notify the Burrenmore Nest management and return to your home address to self-isolate, if safe and reasonable to do so.

If you are not well enough to drive home, or if your home is not a reasonable distance away, you must notify the Burrenmore Nest team and we will seek medical advice on your behalf.

EXTREME WEATHER OR TRAFFIC

Burrenmore Nest does not hold any responsibility for guests who are unable to attend due to extreme weather or traffic conditions. If you are unable to attend due to adverse weather or travel issues, you will be liable for the full cost of your stay and an alternative date will not be offered. Please ensure you have full holiday / travel insurance to cover such circumstances.

If we make the decision to cancel your stay for safety reasons due to extreme weather (snow or high winds), we will offer you an alternative date, subject to availability, or refund.
